Fine-Tuning before Forty

This is my new blog series called fine-tuning before forty. What better way to take you on this journey with me then through where it all started...blogging. 

I share parts of my life on social media, but never the whole story. What you see here is just a fraction of the reality. This past year has been filled with mental stress, frustration, sleepless nights, and deep reflection—but also with rebirth, growth, and wisdom. 

I’ve questioned friendships, relationships, intentions, and who truly stands with me when things get hard. I’ve learned that life is about more than fun moments—it’s about finding people who will speak for you when you’re not in the room, stand up against harm and injustice, and choose to be on the right side of history, even when it’s uncomfortable. 

You can’t claim to love me if you don’t truly see me. 

It’s been a hard year, no doubt. But I’m grateful to say—I’m coming out on the other side. Join me on this journey towards complete enlightenment.

For nearly 12 months I was afraid to even write this post. Now I know more people suffer from this than just me and just like I felt alone I am sure they do too. We are not. 1 year ago today I went into surgery. I came out 4 fibroids lighter. One fibroid was the size of a grapefruit and shifting my entire pelvis. I'd heard that size from several doctors...trust me I got 4 "second opinions." So  there  it was obstructing my uterus and preparing to change our lives forever. It's All Good...Until it Ain't...

So, this means I am off to a good start…twice in one week. Haha! So, the last blog post was a cliffhanger, right? LOL It gave you just enough for me to decide what’s next. After writing that post I thought, “where do I go from here?” But I figured it out…so here goes!   All of my 28 years, 10 months and 25 days I have felt and probably been bigger than the average person or what society says is “normal”. My weight fluctuates often I have been a size 5 and I have been a size 16. At this point in my life I am the biggest I have ever been. If you have seen me lately then you know I am a little “THICKUMS” LOL. Over the last year I have told myself “start getting in shape, workout more, eat less, eat better, yadda yadda yadda.” I have started diets and stopped them no sooner than 1 week into it.
